Drunken Tai Chi
Drunken Tai Chi is a kung fu film made in 1984. It's about a young man with a greedy dad and a half witted brother. The young man really does whatever he wants and brother work at the dad's salt mill. One day the young man goes a little too far by lighting another person up with firecrackers. This dishonor that family making them order an assassin to kill the young man's whole family. The young man lives while the father and brother both die in a fire. Enter in the motivation of the main characters of the movie. He runs away from his home town meeting a drunk man who teaches him Tai Chi to defeat his enemies.
This movie is a straight master piece. The plot thanks to the dubbing of the film is very loosely put together. It's goofy as hell starting out, I mean the main character is doing BMX tricks right out the shoot. The fight scenes are great in this movie but that just because Donnie Yen has never let us down. The best part is you don't have to wait long between fights in this movie. They are in just about every scene. I caught this movie on the Film of Fury channel on Plato TV. I'm not sure where else it would be but this is worth the search to watch. Just get drunk and you may learn a thing or two.
