Death March to the Parallel World Rhapsody

Death March to the Parallel World Rhapsody

This story is about Ichiro Suzuki, who is a programmer going through crunch time for some online games.  This is known as a death march for the programmers.  While working late Ichiro decides to take a nap on the floor and becomes transported to another world.  Right away he has a command screen in front of him to make it painstakingly clear he is in a game.  He notices a horde of lizard men coming towards his direction and uses a meteor shower to clear them.  He quickly jumps from level 1 to 310.  In true game fashion, he gets a ridiculous amount of dropped loot.  From there with him creating his character namer as Satou, the now over powered protagonist sets out to figure out what is going on.  From there it is a learning curve for him to figure out where he is and how to use the vast amount of abilities he has just acquired.

Going to another world is easily my favorite trope of anime and being OP to boot is always nice.  The fact that Satou gets his level scanned and it is showing level 1 lets him act as though he is a lowly merchant.  I do love the fact there are people, NPCs, that treat him as hopeless.  The fact that you as the viewer are aware he could decimate most people he encounters.  The item I could do without is that it quickly turns into a harem.  Satou apparently just attracts female companion and quite a few.  I wish it would diversify his party a bit more but it is what it is.  So far in the show we see our hero only truly act when nobody else is paying attention as to keep up his merchant cover.  Also because being stupidly leveled from the start wasn't enough, he seemingly learns all magic he witness's.  So if you enjoy other world anime's and like seeing an OP character check out Death March!
