LOTR: The Fellowship of the Ring
The first installment of one of my favorite trilogies. LOTR: The Fellowship of the Ring was ground breaking. The movie is base on the book by J.R.R. Tolkien where an evil lord creates the ultimate ring of power. After he is defeated the ring survives for thousands of years until it is found by a hobbit. It's not till years later that they find out that is the ring of power and it must be destroyed. This task is put on group to go deep into the Lands of Mordor to case the ring in the fires of Mount Doom.
After not watching this film in year I was very happy that it still holds up. The movie wasn't as slow as I remember it which was a great surprise. The second and third movies in the trilogy spoil us with so much action you feel like you don't get as much in this one. The cool part is that the battle scenes are on a smaller scale which makes it easier to watch the choreography and the little details. Thanks to watching this now I have to watch the other two. If you want to start down that same road, go out and watch this classic.
